The Space Jockeys

came by this inspiring chunck of text while surfing through this online collaborative project

Well, I know a lot of designers who never had a formal design education and they're doing wonderful things, I also know designers who are college educated designers who do less than wonderful things. Its all about what you want to do, and how far you are willing to go educating yourself. You also read stories everywhere of recent graduates who can't get a foot in the door in the industry because, great designers they may be, they lack the understanding of working for a client or working in a studio environment.... Personally I value a design education because it gives you time to think and experiment at will before you (inevitably) will have to conform to certain rules in the real world.

memories?

went down to MPCC on a cooling fri afternoon. its been a long time since i last went there on a weekday. nostalgic! got to see the botak ver. of marcus. that poor boy, we made fun of him the whole day and national service seems to have made him shrink. anyway, after playing some ball(pls don think dirty, i know wad ur thinking haha) i was somehow dragged dwn to SBA to watch another friend who was playing for the youth cup. initially, i didnt want to go as maybe i am starting to become a homely guy, or maybe theres spanking new dvds to watch at hm! in the end i juz went larr, hahaha beating about the bush. we had a great time watching the matches and commenting on the different teams like how these years players seems to look older den us and we should be the ones playin and they should be the ones sittin at the spectator stands. interesting and engaging comments. truthfully speaking, i was quite envious of these years batch of players cos they were able to put up such strong defense, imagine full-court pressing the entire game! im sure i couldnt last even one quarter. hahaha anyway, im sure ur priorities change as u grow older. the trip down to sba definitely did bring back alot of memories, gd and bad. actually, ive wanted to blog this thing for a very long time, but yarr as u grow older ur priorities change, crap. ok here goes! somehow, i find the bond between me and my teammates quite amazing. initially, four schools plus another one got drafted in a group to slug it out for two spots in the east zone finals. there was alot of rivalry and trashtalking goin on but! somehow, some players from the four different schools got together and played under one same club. till today, we're still playing under the same club.. though we might only be only training once a week, but the chemistry in our plays is still there, in fact it sometimes gets better! im very thankful for wad i have! hopefully, the club dont get disbanded hahaa and sorry for wastin ur time to read this whole chunk of text =)
