So, a year came and went just like this. Loads of things have happened during this whole year. FYP, enlistment, turning 21 which also means I'll have much more responsibilities as a young adult now and not forgetting the parties. What a whirlwind of events man! I was buying lunch the other day when I saw an old man in front of me paying for his food. He had this faint smile on his face which seemed to make the world around him stop in its tracks. It spelled contentment and somehow it felt heartwarming. Like the time when I saw an old couple holding their grandchildren's hand walking around Disneyland. So there I was watching him putting ketchup on top of his fries while the whole world was moving in slow motion. I wondered what made him smile like the way he was smiling. Some a times, I would wonder hows it like living life from their perspective. Watching them going on with life as they are getting older, I wonder if they wished for anything better. How I wish I could live like them. Actually it would be a great idea to retire now and set on a journey around the world. A guitar and some basic necessities is all I need.
Anyway, live in BRTC has been good so far. Hopefully I'll get into the vocation of my choice with my buddies. And its CDA here I come!! Can't believe I'll be passing out in a few weeks time. Isn't it amazing how time flies? When FYP still seems like a yesterday thing. And yes, I really do want to retire now.

Somehow, the Friday today doesn't seem like any other Fridays. The worst thing that can happen to anyone, I believe, would be the lack of motivation or desire to do any work. Its like getting stuck in a bottomless pit and you can see lights at the other end, so now your trying to climb towards the light but you don't seem to get any closer to it no matter how long you have been trying to climb towards it. It's been like that the whole morning and it sucks to feel this way. Good thing with a few good drinks, it got all washed away. So now, theres a mountain I know and its called Work. Its been growing for quite some time and I'm quite stoked about whats going to come out of it. I foresee tinges of pink and pearly whiteness. Something which I have never seen myself doing. Its good to be able to experiment and see to what extent can you push yourself. Its like opening doors and wondering whats behind it or if you would, a very common analogy, a box of chocolates never know what your going to get, unless you buy like Kit Kat or something. You know what I mean. Recently, I have been asked this question. What is Life and how do you define it. The dictionary gives us some really irrelevant answers like the time between the persons existence and death and so on and forth. It would take forever just to list down what the dictionary says and it wouldn't be nice to bombard the reader(s), if any, with some weird definitions. But the question, I believe, is what is the essence of life? What really defines you as a person. Take for example, do you want to be a person who works a 9 to 5 job and gets caught in this never-ending vicious cycle and ends up being a zombie? Or, would you rather be someone who lives life like a box of chocolates. I'm sure there are many more ways a person can live his or her life. Its just that the word Life is so diluted and the boundaries that defines it are so blurred that it loses its real meaning unless you look deeper into it. Its like the word, Sorry. People are saying sorry so much to the extent that do they really mean what they say? Or are they saying just for the sake of saying? I ever thought that there would be no regrets if my life ended now because I felt that I have done and experience almost everything any a person can ask for. But as I take a step back and look at it all. I realize that doing is not the important thing here. Its sustaining. Yes, you can achieve your dreams and thats it. Or would you rather achieve your dreams and also be able to sustain it? The latter would definitely make life more fulfilling. And it all goes back to the word Life. I guess I'd better stop now before this whole Life thing ends up like a Wheel living life in cycles. Thanks for staying with me for this so long.

I remember reading a certain friends entry about Pandora's box and it left me completely dumbfounded. Heres how it goes:

If I had remembered correctly, when pandora's box was opened, the last of all that had resided in the box and subsequently released was hope; amongst the multitude of evils unleashed.
Hope is good, is it not?
I beg to differ.
Hope is akin to dreaming.
It breeds in people a feeling of possibility.
Possibility mean that there is a certain percentage of impossibility.
This means that the bigger the hope, so is the disappointment when it fails to come true.
Realism. Pessimism. Thats what life is. The cold water to wake one up.
It brings people down to earth; breeds joy when something pleasantly unexpected occurs.
Only fools hope. I choose to be the pessimist. The cynic.
The less the hope, the happier I am for never had I placed too much hope in anything;
I aim, I want, I demand.
If not? I throw the idea away. Some call it giving up, I call it practical.
Hope is only useful as a word to be used conveniently.

Wow! Notice how we have always looked at one side of the story when there are a few perspectives you can look at things from and gray areas to explore. I guess education or maybe even our own humane desires only teaches or forces us to look at only one side of things, the side where you think its the best for you or the side where we want them or hope they look like if you know what I mean. Conforming. Institutionalization. Something which I will be going through soon. At times, I find myself lost in my own train of thoughts writing down random words and phrases swimming around my head. Somehow I feel a sense of inner peace whenever I stare at the white pieces of paper on my trusty orange notebook while thinking of what to write. Writing is something which I hope I can revisit soon. But nothing beats a lazy day at the beach with some soothing tunes from my weedmachine and something to hold on really tight to and nothing to worry about. Can't wait for that day to come. Talking about music, I've been listening to some pretty neat songs the past few days and I must say that no one writes down better lyrics than John Mayer. Man On The Side and My Stupid Mouth. Two great songs with lyrics that never fails to amaze me. I believe we are somehow able to relate to that song one way or another, well maybe more for me. Covered In The Rain, another great song which just adds to the overall emotional journey you are about to embark on if you ever click on the links. Maybe its the guitar riff in the middle. Maybe not. For the best experience, listen to it on a lazy afternoon in your bed with your blankets up and the aircons blasting. Theres tonnes of stuff on my mind but its impossible for words to illustrate them. Maybe I shall write a song. Maybe not.

past few sundays been bad, makes me feel kinda shitty in some ways.. i could really do with a long bus ride, a good nap under the sun or even the stars and being lost in my tunes now. or even a good flick! probably with an ice-cold drink in hand and a good read in another, anyone up for it? my room smells of poison and fresh leaf, not in a bad way but in a good way.. but theres a certain fragrance i miss.. the sweet fresh crispy smell of fresh bedsheets. came by an interesting word, happenstance. a chance happening. seems kinda easy to understand but yet in some sense its kinda deep. the magnitude of the word is kinda big! its like a thousand side rubix cube. a jigsaw puzzle of jigsaw puzzle pieces. its like playing in a band or how you always see those great jazz players perform together till the lights are out and leave everyone breathless wanting for more.. so easy yet difficult to understand at the same time. they say pictures speaks a thousand words but sometimes the actual thing speaks more in volumes.. the past few nights were made up of lovely home cooked meals.. im sure pictures cant do it justice, heck it cant even scrap the tip of the whole gigantic iceberg.. the actual experience is waiting and dying to be relived, if you get what i mean.. everything from the shopping of groceries, the walk to and from the marts, the hot steamy kitchen, the laying out of plates, the light-hearted laughter and conversation over the meal and the desserts after the meal. it was a wholesome experience.. you could say an appreciation of the simple things in life. something healthy and good where words cant even describe whats it like sitting at the table and being surrounded by friends and loved ones. ok, thanks for staying with me for this long its amazing if your still staying with me till this very word.. give yourself a pat on ur back! alright! its time for the lights to be out and illustrator to kick in and be runnin at full speed..

does the title of this blog post look familiar? im sure most of u have seen it on my msn nick. anyway, this blog post is dedicated to the fellow interns at FXmedia. when i came to work this morning they have been telling me that they were thinking about me over the weekends. becos, this will be my last week and they still have weeks to come! =D dont worry larr, time will fly by.. just TRY and enjoy the stay... gd luck!

well well, guess i will be hitting the shacks early during the weekends since my charger is in the office. YES!! in the OFFICE! must have left it there while rushing to get out from there earlier. DANG!!! kinda sucks. no melodies playin soothingly when i wake up. anyway, internship is coming to an end soon one more week one more week! got a bad feeling abt the last week though. im sure works gonna come piling in since we ar just chao interns afterwhich when we graduate we will be promoted to chao recruits, except for the girls hahaah

Wed Night Gathering

Met up the secondary school mates on wed night after work and match. It was fun hanging out with them and knowing that they are still doing good. Went to the usual places. Chomp chomp, Yishun Dam and Seletar Air-base to look at airplanes. The ride was chilling and the whole outing was definitely worthwhile despite sacrificing some sleep. If only I have my license hahahah!

I cant believe theres actually no work for me to do right now in the office. Im bored and it doesnt help that im feeling sick and lousy at the same time. Anyway, the weekends or should i say last week was a blast. Had a great time just hanging out and letting lose, should do it more often. Pictures will be up soon! =D

Internship

internship has been a fun but friggin tiring experience. the first thing on my mind when i get home or even on the way home is to just close my eyes, which usually results in sleeping ahahah. to think im only into the first week only, there still like 11 more weeks to go? better make the best of my time there. a glimpse of my workplace believe it or not, sorry for the bad quality hahah
